When my local mosque tasked me with creating new nikahnamas, I saw it as a unique opportunity to infuse a modern aesthetic into the outdated certificates of the past. Combining my passion for graphic design and reverence for tradition, I crafted a new, contemporary design that seamlessly blended traditional elements with modern design sensibilities. Through my thoughtful use of typography, color, and layout, I revitalized the nikahnama, making it a cherished memento of the couple's special day. I took great pride in delivering a finished product that was a testament to the couple's love and the beauty of their union.
Annually, my university orchestrates a stunning fall concert that features a major artist for an exclusive performance, marking the commencement of the academic year.
The art of creating a triumphant concert requires an intricate symphony of various elements, from catering to the artists' demands, to engaging with stage companies, security personnel, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe environment. Every detail must be meticulously planned and executed to orchestrate an unforgettable experience for the attendees.
Throughout my four years at the University of Illinois at Chicago, I was heavily involved in the concert preparations. However, during my senior year, we tirelessly petitioned our supervisors to allow us to plan and execute the event entirely by ourselves. Through our perseverance, we successfully organized the university's inaugural, entirely student-run concert, overseeing all aspects from budgeting to artist relations and production, thereby elevating the bar for future events on campus.
This includes strategic marketing and promotion to generate buzz, securing a venue and sponsorships with elite brands, and managing every facet of the event's production to remain within the financial parameters. The harmonious coordination of all these facets is crucial to the success of the concert, and we were successful in pulling it off with over 4,000 attendees, making this the largest attended event in the campus' history.
During my time at Velawcity, I played a pivotal role in conceiving, launching, and sustaining numerous brands. My responsibilities extended from crafting custom brand decks that epitomized the essence of each brand, to orchestrating media days that effectively conveyed the brand's message to the target audience.
